About Melina
Hi, I’m Melina! I’m a licensed social worker (LMSW) with a Master’s degree from Columbia University and a strong academic background in psychology and neuroscience. I’ve always been passionate about helping others learn in ways that feel empowering, not overwhelming. I specialize in working with students of all learning styles, including those who are neurodivergent or struggle with focus, confidence, or anxiety around school. My goal is to create a supportive space where students can feel understood, capable, and proud of their progress. Whether you need help with writing, reading, organization, or essay editing, I bring patience, encouragement, and structure to every session. I believe in adapting to each student’s pace and making learning something you can actually enjoy.

I tailor each lesson to the student’s learning style and goals, whether it’s improving reading comprehension, writing a strong essay, or building confidence with English skills. My approach is flexible, supportive, and focused on building lasting skills.
A typical session may include breaking down assignments, brainstorming ideas, organizing thoughts, and editing together in real time. I also provide strategies for stronger reading and clearer writing.
With a background in psychology and social work, I specialize in working with students of all learning styles, including those with ADHD or anxiety. My lessons are best suited for middle school, high school, and college students who want focused, personalized support.
