About Robert

I am a 26-year-old private tutor based in Raleigh, NC. I have been teaching online privately for over 4 years, first with the company iD Tech, then for my own business SigmaTeaches. During my tenure, I have honed my ability to teach CS topics to anyone, no matter how familiar they are, or comfortable with the fundamentals. In lessons, I try my best to be funny, or at the very least jovial and high spirits!

About the lesson

Are you looking for a fun and engaging way to introduce your child to the world of computer science? Look no further! My “Computing Fundamentals & Code using Minecraft” course is the perfect blend of education and entertainment.

Course Highlights:

• Interactive Learning with Minecraft: I use the popular game Minecraft to create a dynamic and immersive learning environment. Kids will learn by doing, making complex concepts simple and accessible.
• Terminal/CLI Basics: My curriculum includes an introduction to terminal and command-line interface (CLI) basics. Students will gain hands-on experience with essential computing commands, setting a solid foundation for future coding endeavors.
• Code Fundamentals: I cover the essentials of coding, teaching students how to write and understand code. Using Minecraft, kids will apply these skills in creative and practical ways, reinforcing their learning through interactive projects.
• Designed for Beginners: My unique curriculum is specifically designed for children with no prior experience in computer science. I use age-appropriate language and engaging activities to make learning fun and effective.
• Skill Development: Beyond coding, students will develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and logical reasoning skills. These are essential competencies that will benefit them in all areas of life.
• Supportive Learning Environment: I provide a supportive and nurturing environment where every student can thrive. My small class sizes ensure personalized attention and support for each child.

Why Choose My Course?

• Expert Instruction: I am an experienced professional passionate about teaching and inspiring the next generation of coders.
• Proven Curriculum: My curriculum has been crafted and tested to ensure it is effective, engaging, and enjoyable for young learners.
• Flexible Scheduling: I offer flexible class times to fit your busy schedule, including after-school and weekend sessions.
• Affordable Pricing: Quality education should be accessible to all. I offer competitive pricing and various payment plans to suit your needs.
