About Gizem
Hello! I am Gizem, an opera singer who graduated with top honors (first-class degree) from the Anadolu University State Conservatory Opera Department, complemented by a pedagogical formation from Marmara University.
In addition to my vocal background, I studied privately for a year with concert pianist and pedagogue Maria Hämäläinen Sermet, receiving specialized training focused on sustainable piano pedagogy, ergonomic virtuoso technique, and a holistic musical approach.
Alongside my stage and recording career, I have been teaching private piano lessons online for years. In my lessons, I go beyond mechanical note-reading, focusing on body-aligned ease, tension-free posture, and fluid execution to protect your physical health and enhance musical expression.

My lessons are conducted fully via Zoom, lasting 40 minutes, and are tailored specifically for teenagers and adults who are at beginner or intermediate levels.
• For Beginners & Intermediate Students (Teens & Adults): Whether you are starting from scratch or building on your foundation, we step-by-step cover sheet music reading, solfège, harmony, and rhythm tailored to a mature learning pace.
• Ergonomic & Sustainable Technique: We focus on gravity-aligned, injury-preventing techniques that avoid straining your fingers, wrists, and arms, ensuring fluid and effortless playing.
• Personalized Repertoire: From classical masterpieces and film scores to pop arrangements, we build a repertoire you will genuinely enjoy playing.
Recommendations for Online Lessons:
To ensure the highest quality and efficiency during our 40-minute Zoom sessions, I kindly recommend preparing the following setup:
• A larger screen device (tablet or laptop): Essential for clear visual tracking of sheet music and digital materials.
• A smartphone: Useful to have nearby for close-up video angles (such as checking your finger, wrist, and touch posture) or recording your practice.
• Headphones: Highly recommended to clearly catch instrument tones and prevent background echo or feedback.
• Patience and consistency: Developing ergonomic habits takes time; leave your pre-judgments behind, and let's enjoy this musical journey together!
