About Mackenzie
I am currently a college junior, working toward a BFA in Performing Arts and minors in English and Creative Writing. I have worked professionally as a freelance writer and editor, and have worked with kids and teens through my nonprofit for four years. I've tutored on and off for many years, and my students find that their writing flows much more naturally and eloquently. I've also spent many hours workshopping with other writers, which taught me the most effective ways to provide feedback and encourage writers toward their most refined work!

As the founder of a nonprofit dedicated to improving literacy levels, I know that writing and reading comprehension skills are essential. I am driven by a passion for storytelling, and have experience working with people of all ages. My goal is to create a comfortable and engaging environment that will promote an enthusiasm for learning. I tailor my lesson plans specifically to each student. We will start by discussing your long term goals as a writer or English student, then set milestones for each lesson. We will spend the first part of the hour working on the elements of English language you struggle most with or are most interested in, and the latter part focusing on any current projects you have.
