About Alexandra
I am a fiction writer, tutor, and teacher. Why do I like teaching and writing? Because it allows me to be curious about the world while meeting awesome people! I believe writing is an act of confidence. My goal is to help students find the confidence to write their very best essay or story!
I have been tutoring high school and college students for 3 years. Currently, I tutor at the New York Film Academy.
My interests beyond teaching include hiking, dogs, video games, and good books. I would say cooking but I'm pretty bad.

My teaching method is based in encouragement over punishment. I believe in pointing out strengths and working together to overcome any struggles. Writing can be daunting. But it's also essential -- in the classroom, and beyond. My tutoring sessions are based in higher ordering -- going from the big issues (structure, thesis, etc.) and then working down to the sentences on the grammatical level.
