About Alex
I am a high achieving student entering college next academic year to study Maths, Further Maths, Chemsitry and Physics. (I am currently 16 years of age and will be 17 in September)
I was extremely passionate about and genuinely loved Maths and Chemistry at GCSE. Many times while studying I would explain topics to friends and was praised by both them and teachers for my skill in teaching the subjects in depth and in easy to understand ways, adapting well to their needs. I was often told that I made them feel very confident in the subject to the point they then believed they could explain it to someone else.
I have not yet got my GCSE results (I have sat the exams) but am predicted A**s in Maths and Chemsitry and have an A* in English Literature.
I am also predicted an A** in EnlgishLanguage; A* in Physics, Design and Technology and Drama; A in Biology, History and Further Maths.
Outside of academic study, I also write (I'm currently working on a book) and do digital art in my spare time. I also love to play games with and talk with my friends, as well as visit the local park. My favourite hobby right now is playing Dungeons and Dragons with friends, which is a narrative game in which you create characters and create a story together by respondingto scenarios in character and rolling dice.

My tutoring will be aimed at GCSE students who want exam help and practise for Maths and Chemistry, and help understanding new concepts and topics in Maths and Chemistry; and primary students who need friendly, fun and engaging help with Maths skills and preparing for mathematics SATs. I can also help students to work through Chemistry and Maths homework, helping them understand mark schemes, the concepts and how to get marks in exams for Chemsitry, and helping them to understand the problem, how to approach it and how to solve similar problems in other maths questions, giving them skills they can apply in other areas of their course.
I am good at making studying engaging and can present information in an articulate and easy to understand way, using visual aids and practise questions which, according to the learning pyramid, help students to remember content much better than if they are just told it.
Having your child/you be taught by someone with genuine passion for the subject will have a postitive impact on their view of the subject and cause for more exciting, well taught lessons. I will ensure that students have a good understanding of the topic and are confident in it for future questions and good results.
This is also a chance for your child/you to be tutored by someone closer to your age, who will have a better understanding of the exams as I have taken them recently, how your brain works and how you study, and be more relatable and have reviewed the course more recently than an adult.
I have a flexible schedule and will be at high availability almost every day up until September, from then on I will be available on weekends. I would mainly tutor online, but exceptions can be negotiated for people who would like face to face tutoring in Solihull in places I can cycle to.
