About Mia
My name is Mia and I’m a qualified English teacher (PGCE + QTS) from Walsall! With both experience in a school and tutoring setting, I find tutoring to be the most rewarding and effective method of teaching, and wish to share this experience with others.

As a qualified English Teacher, my lessons are highly customised and are tailored to suit the needs of individual learners, typically following the Starter - Main - Application - Plenary structure. Our first lesson together is an exercise in communication; figuring out what areas you would like to work on, and in what areas I see opportunity to elevate your knowledge further. All lessons are an open dialogue, particularly with adult learners who wish to have more agency in their learning.

She has both a degree in Linguistics and Japanese as well as a PGCE in English. This gives her the experience and the knowledge to teach English. Also, her degree has given her experiences teaching English as a second language (TESOL) as well as having her own knowledge of language.
Alongside her academic experience, knowing her personally she has a great passion for language and everything that she does. She teaches with empathy and understanding to everyone.
