Hi everyone! I’m Chang Shixuan, a passionate Chinese teacher who loves helping students explore this beautiful language. As a current master’s student at the University of Adelaide, I’ve experienced language learning firsthand—both teaching Chinese to my Australian friends and adapting to English in my studies. I’m bubbly, patient, and believe learning should be fun! My goal is to make our lessons engaging and stress-free, so you can enjoy every step of your Chinese journey. About the lesson

I adopt a student-centered, interactive approach, focusing on: Diagnostic Assessment Identify learning gaps through initial evaluation to create personalized plans. Concept-First Explanation Simplify complex topics with real-life examples and visual aids (e.g., charts, analogies). Active Learning Encourage critical thinking via guided questioning, practice, and immediate feedback. Goal-Oriented Lessons Set clear micro-objectives (e.g., "graphing quadratic functions") and validate progress with exercises/quizzes. Lesson Duration - Standard Session: 60 mins (concept + practice) - Extended Session: 90 mins (exam prep/complex projects, incl. 10-min break) Target Students - Level: Middle/High School, College, Adults

Perfect! Shixuan is excellent, she is always well prepared for each lesson and has a good record of where we are up to with her program. She is friendly and always helpful with the lessons and is understanding when I am struggling with sounds I have never made my mouth make before. Overall a pleasure to be with and is always engaged.
