About Grace
I earned my M.S. in Chemistry from UCSD and have 4 years of tutoring experience in San Diego. I also worked as a teaching assistant in the organic synthesis lab, helping students develop rigorous lab techniques. I hold an ACS Certified Laboratory Technician certification and offer weekday evenings and weekend sessions. We start each session with a quick check of your chemistry basics—periodic trends, stoichiometry, and simple reaction mechanisms—to see where you’re strongest and what needs attention. Then we move through core topics (atomic structure, thermodynamics, kinetics) and dive into organic and biochemistry (functional groups, reaction pathways, enzymes) using Avogadro for 3D molecular models and virtual lab tools for hands-on practice. You’ll work on practice problems aligned to AP, SAT II, and college-level courses, then review detailed solutions together to deepen your understanding. Every lesson includes a short, real-world application—like modeling a reaction’s energy profile or exploring how enzymes speed up biology—so you see exactly how chemistry explains the world around you.
