About Olivia
I have a permanent infatuation with languages - I love figuring out their secrets, and I am always learning at least one! But for over 7 years my primary focus has been French, and now I really want to use my own experience to help other French learners. Whatever you're struggling with, trust me, I've been there!
I've brought myself from a complete beginner level to regularly talking with native French friends and understanding everything that used to be one big mystery to my ears.
I strongly believe that YOU CAN TOO. (Without spending 7 years figuring out how!)
Whether you're simply planning a trip to a French-speaking country, you want to start from scratch and work your way up to the very top, or you're already learning and you feel like you're no longer improving... I'll hear out exactly what you need help with, and I will do everything I can to get you there!

Learning a language isn't about memorising every single overwhelming chunk of grammar, or going through lists of vocabulary like a chore. It's like getting to know a new friend - you start with the basics, and then you follow the threads, figuring out what makes them tick, revealing the full picture piece by piece.
Like getting to know someone, learning a language requires consistency, and more than anything, true interest. But I also understand that it can be hard to be consistent on your own, and sometimes it can feel not rewarding at all.
In our trial lesson, I'll find out exactly what you want to achieve. Then I'll structure your learning in a way that's consistent enough to get you there, but which also ensures you always feel like you've conquered something!
Depending on your personal goals, I'll use a variety of resources, both made for French learners and from the real world. I'll help you learn interesting new words, and see the connections between them. I'll help you break apart what feels like impossible French so that you see how all the puzzle pieces fit together.
And even if there are some things that you just have to sit down and memorise, I will get through it with you. I will give you the techniques to make the process easier, and then much more fun ways to make what you've learned stick!
Lessons will typically be 50 minutes - 1 hour.
