Character design is more than just drawing—it’s about creating worlds, telling stories, and shaping narratives that have the power to inspire generations. As an educator, artist, and storyteller, I am committed to helping aspiring character designers, comic artists, and visual storytellers develop the skills they need to bring their characters to life.
With years of experience in illustration, my goal is to provide beginner artists with a strong foundation in design principles while encouraging their unique artistic voice.
Why Learn With Me?
A Structured & Engaging Approach – My lessons combine technical fundamentals with creative storytelling, ensuring students build both skill and confidence.
A Safe Space for Growth – I foster a supportive, culturally aware learning environment where students are encouraged to develop their own authentic artistic voice.
Representation Matters – Every artist deserves to see themselves in the industry. I focus on empowering students to create characters and stories that reflect their identities, cultures, and experiences.
My Teaching Method
Every lesson is designed to be hands-on, interactive, and accessible to beginners. My method follows a clear structure that balances technical skills with creative expression:
Step 1: Shape Language & Silhouettes – Learn how simple shapes influence personality and design.
Step 2: Expression & Personality – Master facial expressions, poses, and visual storytelling.
Step 3: Proportions & Anatomy – Simplify the human form and create dynamic characters.
Step 4: Costumes & Details – Use clothing, accessories, and props to enhance storytelling.
Step 5: Bringing It All Together – Finalizing a professional-level character design.
Each class includes warm-up exercises, guided practice, real-time feedback, and creative assignments so that students can apply what they’ve learned immediately.
Who Are These Lessons For?
Beginner Artists – No prior experience needed! We focus on building strong foundational skills.
Storytellers & Writers – Learn how to create visually compelling characters that strengthen your storytelling.
This course isn’t just about learning how to draw characters—it’s about creating characters with purpose, depth, and representation. If you’re ready to take your first step into character design and tell the stories the world needs to see, I’m here to guide you.
Your art matters. Your stories matter. Let’s create something powerful together.
