I love seeing students grow to love their instruments and be able to express themselves through performing music. Studied with legendary violinists such as Itzhak Perlman and Aaron Rosand, I have more than a decade of teaching experience and I offer lessons for all levels and ages, both online and offline in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. Lessons can be done in both English and Mandarin.

My teaching style changes depending on the students. The lesson could be chilled or serious, but it is always goal-orientated and structured. I choose the repertoire according to the students' interests and I notate the music myself to make sure they fit the level of the particular student. More than a teacher, I aim to be a friend of my students whom they feel open and comfortable to be around with. I want them to experience how wonderful it is to have music in their lives - whether to pursue seriously or as a hobby. I want them to know that I care about them and I want to inspire them just as how they do for me.

I have known Sheng-Ching for 9 years and studied violin with her for 5 years. Sheng-Ching is an incredibly talented violinist and truly supportive violin teacher. She is a teacher who is very encouraging and knows how to give constructive criticism for any level. She always checks in during lessons to make sure that I am okay and has been flexible to my wants and needs.I have been her violin student for several years. Sheng-Ching is an excellent violin teacher. I highly recommend her violin lesson. In her lesson, she properly allocates time to scale, etude, and musical piece. So I can learn practical skills and enjoy music in my 1h lesson. As she also studied piano, recently when I worked on a concerto, she recorded piano part and emailed me so that I can practice violin with her recorded piano part at home. It was very helpful and fun. I think not every violin teacher has this kind of skill and talent.
