About Skylar

I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at Georgia State University. Previously, I graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. During my time at UNG, I was privileged to play on the women's soccer team, where I developed teamwork and leadership skills.

Outside of academics and sports, I enjoy spending time outdoors playing with my black lab. I am passionate about helping others achieve their full potential, which is why I find fulfillment in my pursuit of occupational therapy. I am dedicated to making a positive impact in people's lives through my academic journey and beyond.

About the lesson

As a tutor, my approach is centered around understanding the unique learning style and needs of each student to effectively convey knowledge and foster understanding. Here's how I typically approach tutoring:

Understanding Needs: I assess each student to determine their strengths and areas needing improvement.

Personalized Plan: I create a tailored learning plan based on their goals and learning style.

Interactive Learning: I engage students with questions, discussions, and practical examples.

Problem-Solving Focus: I emphasize critical thinking and guide students through problem-solving steps.

Feedback and Support: I give regular feedback to reinforce learning and address any misunderstandings promptly.

Typical Lesson Outline:

Review: Recap previous lessons.
Concept Introduction: Introduce or deepen understanding of new topics.
Practice: Apply concepts through exercises.
Discussion: Encourage questions and discussions.
Summary: Recap key points and suggest further study.

Unique Qualities:

Personalization: I adapt to each student's needs and learning style.
Engagement: I create a supportive environment for active learning.
Deep Understanding: I focus on comprehension over memorization.

Target Students:
Elementary and Middle School: Assist with math related subjects.
Specific Needs: Assist with test preparation or learning challenges.

My tutoring aims to empower students with knowledge, skills, and confidence for academic success.
