About Imogen
Hi there! I’m Imogen, an art tutor with a love for the fantastical and a fondness for puns. With a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, a First‑Class Honours Degree in Comic and Concept Art, and a Master’s Degree in World‑Building, I’m dedicated to keeping the arts vibrant, accessible, and joyfully imaginative. When I’m not guiding students through their creative journeys, I’m usually surrounded by my two cats -my mischievous studio assistants and constant sources of inspiration - or lost in one of my many sketchbooks, each overflowing with everything from playful comics to fully rendered illustrations. I’m also deeply passionate about video games and game design, and I spend much of my time crafting intricate fictional worlds, from characters and environments to entire cultural and socio‑political systems. My love of storytelling extends into Dungeons & Dragons, where creating campaigns keeps my imagination sharp and my creativity adventurous.
Teaching is one of the most fulfilling parts of my life. I believe creativity is contagious, and I’m committed to sharing it generously. My diverse artistic interests - from concept art to fine art - enrich my teaching approach, allowing me to connect with students over shared passions and introduce them to a wide range of creative perspectives. Every lesson is tailored to support individual growth, helping each student develop confidence, skill, and their own unique artistic voice. I’m here to nurture the next generation of artists and to keep the arts alive and thriving - so let’s create something wonderful together.

My tutoring sessions are designed for GCSE and A-Level students who want to strengthen their artistic and design skills, as well as adults who simply wish to learn how to be creative and enjoy the process of making art. Lessons run between thirty minutes and one hour, offering focused, personalised guidance that adapts to each student's needs. I teach a wide range of skills, including traditional drawing, painting, and illustration from foundational techniques to advanced rendering; digital art and concept design using industry-standard software; mixed-media experimentation; composition and visual storytelling; character and environment design essential for world-building; and portfolio preparation for students applying to art school or higher education.
Recognising that art is inherently subjective, I focus on creating a supportive environment where students feel confident exploring their own ideas and artistic perspectives. Having worked extensively with children and young people, I know that no two students learn in the same way, so each session is shaped around their interests, strengths, and goals. My academic background - a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, a First-Class Honours Degree in Comic and Concept Art, and a Master's Degree in World-Building - gives me a diverse skill set across both digital and traditional mediums, allowing me to guide students effectively through their creative development.

Perfect! I can’t recommend Imogen highly enough! As a tattoo artist applying for Graphic Design, I wasn’t sure how to shape my experience into a university portfolio. She helped me select and organise my work, strengthen my reflections and prepare the final submission. She was patient, thoughtful and genuinely supportive. With her guidance, I was accepted onto my chosen course. I’m so grateful!
Perfect! really friendly and patient, great explanation of different ways of drawing lines and using line weight to show depth/perspective! had a great time learning! :D
- Possesses good fine motor skills for detail, and has a fantastic eye for analysing elements in pieces of art. More practice is needed when keeping flow and confidence in longer, broader strokes and lines; but overall a very good skill set to start with. I had a great time tutoring Logan for this session, and look forward to facilitating his steady progress to more interest-based projects following the strengthening of technique and study. Imogen is a professional! She has a Bachelors and Masters in art and specialises in comic and concept design and World- Building. She has done graphic label design for a wine brand and has also done stylised portrait commissions.
