About Alexa
I am a lifelong learner, even as a professional educator. I hold my Bachelor's and Master's degree in Science in Education and Special Education from an accredited university. I hold my school supervisor certificate, as well as an additional Master's degree in Educational Leadership. I am currently a 7th-year special education teacher. Throughout my career, I have taught grades K-6, and am certified to teach up to high school.

My teaching method aims to meet the learners' individualized needs through an initial assessment. The initial assessment will then guide my lessons that each include multi-sensory activities, student-centered learning, scaffolding, and one-to-one support.
My lesson plans include a fun introduction or hook to the lesson that will get students interested and engaged. The procedure will include student-led activities modeled by the teacher to give students independence and autonomy as the lesson progresses. The lesson will close with an exit ticket that will guide my next lesson, if we need to revisit content, need to change any activities, or can move on to the next topic.
My lessons can be created for the student. Whether they are elementary, middle, or high school age, lessons will be tailored to the student. Lessons can include phonics, literacy, reading, reading comprehension, spelling, grammar, writing, and more!
