About Amy
I am an ambitious and driven person about to begin my MSc and enjoy bringing this energy to students. I am very conversational and enjoy a hands-on approach to tutoring, talking through subjects, making sure that we are on the same page and that students air any confusion they have so we can work through it. I took English Literature, Drama and History at A Levels, receiving A*A*A and loved my time at Durham. I was heavily involved in Student Theatre during University and received an award for "Outstanding Achievement in Theatre". Although I took English at Uni, I still feel very comfortable and prepared to tutor in History, Drama and Music. I received my Grade 5 Music Theory at 15 and play 4 instruments at a high level. I have been tutoring for the last year, overseeing students completing their GCSEs. Over this period I managed to build grades from a 5 to an 8 on average. Ideally tutoring sessions are at least 2 hours a week (this can be split into multiple sessions). I prefer to base lessons surrounding school curricula, ensuring tutoring aligns with schoolwork. To do this I focus on homework, research into individual schools' education processes and work with students to find methods that work for them. I am happy to tutor all ages from secondary school entrance exams through to A Levels.
