About Harish

To communicate who you are and why you want to teach Humanities in a compelling and impressive way, it’s important to share your passion for the subject, your personal connection to it, and how you envision it shaping students’ lives. Here's an example that blends passion with purpose: "I want to take a moment to share with you who I am and why I’m so passionate about teaching Humanities. My journey with Humanities began long ago, not as an obligation but as a deep curiosity about what makes us human—our values, struggles, triumphs, and the stories that bind us together. As someone who believes that the key to understanding the world around us lies in understanding ourselves, I’ve always been fascinated by how history, philosophy, literature, and the arts have shaped who we are today. I see the study of Humanities as a way to unlock the full potential of human creativity and critical thinking. It's not just about the past—it’s about discovering how we can apply those lessons to our present and future. Humanities teach us to ask the tough questions, to challenge the status quo, and to think deeply about the moral and ethical implications of our actions. I want to teach Humanities because I believe it provides the tools for students not only to understand the world but to engage with it meaningfully. Humanities give us a sense of perspective, a deeper appreciation for diverse cultures, and an ability to connect with people and ideas in ways that are profoundly human. I’m here to help you make those connections, to show you how the study of Humanities isn’t just about facts and theories but about developing the skills to think critically, communicate effectively, and navigate the complexities of life. For me, teaching Humanities is more than just a profession—it’s a calling. It’s an opportunity to spark curiosity, to ignite passion, and to guide students toward becoming thoughtful, informed, and empathetic individuals. My goal is to inspire you to see the world through the eyes of history, philosophy, and art, and to use that perspective to influence your life and the lives of others in a positive way. Together, we’ll explore the vast world of ideas and experiences that have shaped our past, and, in doing so, we’ll be better equipped.

"Humanities offer more than just an academic subject; they provide a powerful lens through which we can better understand ourselves, our society, and the world around us. In our fast-paced, technology-driven world, the Humanities remain an invaluable foundation for developing critical thinking, empathy, and cultural awareness. By approaching the study of Humanities on a personal level, you have the opportunity to connect with the ideas, histories, and narratives that have shaped the course of human civilisation. Think of it as a journey where you can explore not just ancient texts or historical events, but the very essence of human experience—our values, aspirations, challenges, and triumphs. The personal approach means engaging with these ideas not just as a student of the past, but as an active participant in shaping the future. This method encourages not just learning, but thinking deeply about who we are and where we are headed. In this approach, you’re not simply memorising facts; you’re actively questioning, reflecting, and applying ideas in ways that resonate with your own life. Humanities help you develop a unique perspective, which is invaluable in today’s complex world. Whether it’s through literature, philosophy, or history, you’ll discover how to critically assess situations, communicate ideas effectively, and develop a well-rounded view of the world—skills that are essential in any field. I invite you to embrace this personalised journey in Humanities, where your thoughts and questions matter as much as the knowledge you acquire. It’s not just about learning what happened, but understanding why it matters to you, to society, and to the future we all share".
