About Mariah
I am a Senior in the Integrative Biology program at Oregon State University with a focus in Ecology. I have also earned my Chemistry minor. I've devoted most of my coursework to ecosystem vulnerability and climate change dynamics in hopes to gain a career in environmental justice! I also run an animal sanctuary in California with my mother and love to talk about animals.

I feel comfortable teaching ecological and biological topics to students ranging from the elementary level to those in their junior year of college. I see biology as a big puzzle that can be put together piece by piece, and that cannot be completed without all pieces present. I focus on building a foundation of knowledge around the connections within biology to better prepare a student to understand overall concepts. I value having patience to ensure the student has a strong understanding before moving onto to more critical thinking.
