About Aidan
Growing up I always felt school was a double-edged sword; I enjoyed learning the subjects I liked, but struggled to find the motivation to conquer the subjects I didn't. School can conflict with being a kid sometimes, and I think there's great satisfaction in being able to finally understand the subject(s) that have been unfairly holding you back.
As a tutor, I'm a positive, outgoing, and communicable person. Although I'm efficient, organized, and flexible, I wont try to unnecessarily force these traits on you. What's most important is achieving your goals and growing as a person and student from that.
Although I can't (in theory) teach you these things, I love basketball and volleyball, all things music (I play five instruments!), reading, and travelling.
I grew up overseas and both appreciate and respect different cultures, ethnicities, and races, and pride myself in being open minded.

My methodology is tuned to my experiences as a student; I think that the best way for a student to thrive is from within, working towards their own goals at their own pace. The tutor is there to guide them along their journey and aid when needed.
The lesson itself is the tip of the iceberg, as I rigorously plan on both my side and my students'. Lesson plans are fully prepared beforehand (although there always is room to maneuver), and a personalized schedule created with my student to let them achieve their fullest outside my time with them.
I always start lessons by asking my students to recap any issues and / or accomplishments since I last saw them. We discuss key areas to work on, and with that in mind make goals for the session. Lessons are malleable according to the student's needs, but I always try to incorporate topic review, homework review, and giving feedback on their work.
At the end of the lesson, I'll take time to ask them how they thought the lesson went, if there's anything they'd change for next time, and how well they thought they met their goals. I constantly strive to be better, and welcome any feedback on my part. I'll assign them extra work if needed, remind them to follow their schedule as best they can, and wish them good luck until next session!
With patience and compassion, I'm a person who has a keen understanding and appreciation of the challenges of being a student, and can help your child achieve their potential while keeping them engaged. Along the way, they'll pick up key study and organizational skills that will help them all their life.
I can tutor economics, as is my specialty, in particular with IB (HL or SL), and AP. I am also happy to offer more generalized tutoring for middle and early high school where I can work with students on a range of subjects (math, english, science, french, social studies, technology, etc.) where needed.
I can use an iPad or computer depending on what works best.
