About Amelie

Hi, I’m Amelie, a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) student at the University of Queensland, specialising in Business and Economics. I am friendly, patient and committed to creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Through my university studies and professional school placements, I have developed experience working with students across Years 7–12 and adapting explanations to different learning needs. My goal is to help every student strengthen their understanding, build confidence and become a more independent learner.

I tailor each lesson to the student’s individual goals, learning needs and current level of understanding. My approach combines clear explanations, worked examples, guided practice and regular checks for understanding. I also use retrieval practice, scaffolding and real-world examples to make complex concepts easier to understand and remember.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although the length can be adjusted to suit the student. Through my professional placements, I have experience planning lessons, supporting diverse learners and working with students across mostly Humanities Years 7–12 classrooms. My tutoring is suitable for all students seeking help with subject knowledge, assignments, revision, study skills or exam preparation.
