About Marleen
I have given tutoring in a lot of subjects at high school (Latin, Greek, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology) and will start as a Teaching Assistant at the UvA next year. In high school I myself have completed a technical profile with honors and I am very motivated to help others understand the material!

My method of teaching differs per course that I give. With subjects that require a lot of reading, such as biology, I will first give an explanation of the most important facts and processes and then discuss these questions together. I have a large collection of useful videos that clarify tough subjects. In addition, it is important to be able to explain a process yourself in your own words. This way, I can also check whether you abstract the right parts out of the matter. Especially for the final exam it is important to be able to distinguish clearly what is important matter and what is not. I can help with this very well. For more technical subjects such as Mathematics and Physics it is important to me to practice a lot and to have a structured approach for exercises that often occur. For example, Mathematical proof is often seen as a very hard subject, but there is a very structural approach to solve these problems. I will always fill lessons with a lot of variety.

Marleen heeft mijn dochter (5 VWO) een half jaar lang bijles gegeven in het vak wiskunde A. Naast dat mijn dochter het ontzettend fijn vond om met Marleen te werken, was aan het eind van het jaar haar gemiddelde met maar liefst 2 punten omhoog geschoten! Ook was het zo fijn dat Marleen erg geduldig is en flexibel in haar uren was. Ik zou Marleen aan iedereen aanraden!
