About Alex
I’m a corporate lawyer by profession, but my real passion lies in French and Arabic, which I’ve studied and loved for many years. Alongside my legal career, I’ve tutored these languages simply for the joy of it. I enjoy working with learners of all levels, sharing my hard-won skills and knowledge, and seeing students gain confidence and grow.

I am an experienced and effective French and Arabic tutor, with a proven track record of achieving excellent results with high school students, university students, professionals, and hobbyists alike. I specialise in French for high school (all year levels) and university, and I support professionals learning French or Arabic for work, as well as learners pursuing these languages for travel or family purposes. My lessons are fully tailored to each student’s needs and goals. I draw on a wealth of materials I have developed and curated over many years, while also working seamlessly with any materials students bring to our sessions. I focus on all core language skills, including speaking, reading, listening, and writing. I have been tutoring French privately for over 15 years. In Arabic, I designed the curriculum for and have taught at The Parramatta College, a premier adult community college in Sydney, for eight years. I also designed the curriculum for and taught the University of Melbourne’s Second Language Acquisition Programme in French for two years. I have been featured twice as a guest speaker on Australia’s SBS Radio 24 (in Arabic), discussing the challenges and benefits of learning Arabic as a non-native speaker, offering advice to students, and commemorating UN Mother Language Day. Alex helped me thoroughly prepare for my HSC French oral examination in the week leading up to it. We were able to have two lessons despite him being on travels overseas and the short notice. Thanks to his advice, I was able to improve my usage of grammar and vocabulary, and sat my exam with confidence. I would highly recommend Alex as a French tutor for anyone who is looking to improve their French speaking skills.
I’m so grateful for Alex’s help with my French. I'm moving to Europe and wanted to feel more confident with my speaking. Alex’s patient and encouraging teaching style has made a real difference. I’ve already noticed improvements and feel much more at ease when speaking. His professionalism and passion for French shine through every lesson. I would happily recommend Alex to anyone wanting to improve their French.
Alex has helped me prepare for my year 12 French exams for the last 3 months. He is an absolutely phenomenal French tutor. He takes me through the intricacies of French grammar and pronunciation with clear explanations, patience and a deep knowledge of how the language works and how I can target my study for my specific exam purposes. I would have no hesitation recommending him.
