About Michelle

I am a practicing California attorney who scored 175 on the official LSAT and has completed more than 2,000 hours of tutoring. I have worked with more than 300 students through Superprof alone.

My students have reported substantial score improvements, including regular gains exceeding 10 points.

I did not begin with a 175. I raised my own score from approximately 160 to 175 over three official LSAT administrations. As a result, I understand both how to perform at a very high level and how to diagnose the habits that keep capable students stuck below their potential.

My approach is especially valuable for:

• Students plateauing in the 150s or 160s
• Retakers who need an honest diagnosis
• Students targeting the high 160s or 170s
• Busy professionals who need an efficient study system
• Students who understand the basics but remain inconsistent
• Applicants who want coordinated LSAT and admissions guidance

I do not rely on slogans, shortcuts, or memorized tricks. I teach students to understand argument structure, identify exactly what each question requires, predict answers before evaluating choices, and explain why every incorrect answer fails.

My legal practice gives me an additional perspective on analytical reading, precision, language, and reasoning under pressure. More importantly, my 6 years of tutoring experience allows me to identify the exact point where a student’s reasoning begins to break down.

In addition to LSAT preparation, I provide comprehensive law school admissions consulting. My background as an experienced writing instructor, UBC Honours English graduate, former university literature teaching assistant, and practicing attorney allows me to help applicants develop thoughtful, persuasive, and highly polished application materials.

My admissions process begins with a candid assessment of the applicant’s academic record, LSAT position, experiences, goals, application timeline, and target schools. We then develop an application strategy that presents the applicant’s strongest authentic narrative across every component of the application.

For personal statements and supplemental essays, I provide start-to-finish support that may include:

• Guided brainstorming to uncover distinctive topics
• Evaluation of possible essay concepts
• Identification of the strongest central narrative
• Structural and thematic planning
• Detailed developmental feedback
• Sentence-level editing and polishing
• Multiple revision rounds
• Final review for clarity, authenticity, and consistency

I also help admitted students evaluate scholarship offers and prepare respectful, evidence-based scholarship reconsideration requests. This may involve comparing competing offers, identifying the applicant’s strongest negotiating position, drafting negotiation correspondence, and deciding when and how to follow up.

For applicants deciding whether to accept an offer, retake the LSAT, remain on a waitlist, or reapply in a later cycle, I provide practical strategy based on the applicant’s individual circumstances rather than generic admissions advice.

The complimentary first meeting is a 15-minute consultation. We will discuss your diagnostic score, target score, intended test date, study history, and whether my approach is suitable for your goals. It is not a complimentary full tutoring session.

Before beginning, I review your current performance and develop a prioritized plan. Depending on the service selected, students may receive:

• A diagnostic assessment and written study roadmap
• A personalized weekly study schedule
• Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension instruction
• Detailed review of timed sections and practice tests
• A structured error-analysis system
• Session notes and targeted assignments
• Accountability check-ins between selected sessions
• Test-date, retake, and application-timing guidance

During lessons, I ask students to explain their reasoning aloud. This allows me to determine whether the problem involves comprehension, conditional logic, argument structure, answer-choice evaluation, timing, confidence, or review methodology.

Logical Reasoning instruction covers argument structure, assumptions, flaws, inference, conditional reasoning, causation, answer prediction, and efficient elimination. Reading Comprehension instruction covers passage structure, viewpoint tracking, comparative passages, inference, evidence location, and accuracy under time pressure.

Students must have access to official LSAT questions through LawHub.

When contacting me, please include:

• Your latest timed score
• Your target score
• Your intended test date
• How long you have studied
• The resources or courses you have already used
• The sections or question types causing the most difficulty

I accept a limited number of students so that each student receives individualized preparation and careful attention.
