About Hardik
I hold a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Chennai Mathematical Institute, one of India's leading institutions for pure mathematics. I went on to clear the entrance examinations for both the ISI M.Math and the CMI MSc in Computer Science, and was selected for a research placement in transcendental number theory at Institut Fourier in Grenoble, under the Charpak Scholarship Programme.
I have more than 2 years of teaching experience and currently lead an advanced mathematics programme for students preparing for competitive entrance examinations, so I work with serious mathematics every day rather than teaching from a syllabus I last touched years ago.

About My Teaching Method & Philosophy
My approach is built on a simple philosophy: Math is not about memorizing formulas; it is about developing logical intuition. Coming from a rigorous theoretical background at CMI, I don’t just teach students how to solve a problem—I teach them how to see the problem.
I focus heavily on first-principles thinking. Instead of giving students a step-by-step recipe, I guide them to discover the underlying mathematical structures. This builds deep, flexible problem-solving skills that allow them to tackle unfamiliar, complex questions with absolute confidence.
The Structure of My Classes
Every online session is highly interactive, utilizing a digital whiteboard, and typically follows a structured 60-minute format:
* The Warm-Up (5–10 Mins): We review a challenging problem from the previous session's homework, clearing up conceptual doubts and resetting the student's mathematical mindset.
* Core Conceptual Breakdown (20 Mins): We dissect a new, advanced topic using visual proofs and core logical definitions rather than superficial shortcuts.
* Guided Live Problem Solving (25 Mins): We tackle Olympiad-level or AP-level problems together. I use a "Socratic prompting" method—asking strategic questions to let the student drive the derivation and make the final breakthrough themselves.
* The De-Brief & Strategy (5 Mins): We summarize the core takeaways of the day and assign targeted, highly curated practice problems designed to stretch their thinking before the next session.
