I understand that everyone has a different learning style and think about things differently. The learning style that I have found most helpful is going through some problems with the student first, and then having them do some on their own, asking questions along the way. I find this most helpful because it keeps the students engaged, while not throwing them into the deep end. If this method fails, we take a deeper step-by-step approach to the problem to fully understand where the confusion comes in. When further explaination is needed, I like to make connections to every day life while talking about the problem to give the student a better understanding of what the problem is asking and how to go about solving it.
