About Amanda
I’m Amanda Sangweni, an English teacher with 5 years of experience. I hold a degree in Education specialising in English, and an Honours degree in English and Media Studies. I have taught English as a Home Language, First Additional Language, and Second Language — and last year my ESL learners achieved a *97% pass rate for EHL*.
I’m interested in teaching because I’m passionate about understanding the challenges learners face with reading for comprehension, and finding practical ways to help them overcome them. I believe English is more than exams and grammar — it’s a tool for confidence, critical thinking, and self-expression.
Learners should choose me because I focus on understanding first. My lessons are structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s needs. I use clear explanations, discussions, and practical activities to help concepts click. I’m committed to helping students improve their grades, build confidence in speaking and writing, and develop skills for life beyond the classroom. I am patient, and I celebrate progress at every step.

Hi, I'm Amanda. I’m a full-time English teacher and mum who makes English fun, not stressful.
Tired of boring grammar drills? In my lessons we learn through stories, debates, games, movies, and real conversation — so you actually use English, not just memorise it. I specialise in Essay Bootcamp, Matric prep, confident speaking, and helping students who “hate English” start to enjoy it and see their grades jump. Lessons are 80% talking, patient, and tailored to YOU. I offer flexible week online sessions.
Book me and let’s turn English from scary to your secret weapon
