About Jodi
I’m a former TOEFL instructor at the Hanoi University of Foreign Studies and I have been a college admissions counselor for non-native English speakers. I've taught University applicants and students, diplomats, business professionals, and government leaders. I've taught English for 12 years at universities, private language schools, and one-on-one.
Preparing for the TOEFL while applying for college, jobs or visas is intimidating and overwhelming. However, I have never met a student that I could not help. We will find your path and reduce your test anxiety in the process.

My method is diagnostic first, practice second, feedback always. In our first session you take a short TOEFL-style diagnostic so I can find the skills limiting your score, and every lesson after that targets those gaps beyond the general textbook. A typical 60-minute lesson starts with a quick homework review, then focused skill work (such as structuring a speaking answer or paraphrasing for integrated writing), then timed practice on a real TOEFL-style task. We finish with detailed corrections, a model answer at your target level, and clear homework. I put extra weight on Speaking and Writing, where human feedback raises scores the most.
These lessons are for high school, undergraduate, and graduate applicants to universities in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia, and for professionals who need a score for a visa, licensing, or a job. They suit intermediate to advanced learners (roughly B1 to C1) aiming for a target (100+ or 5.0+) whether you’re new to the test format or stuck at a score plateau.
