About Alyson
The stories of others inspire me; and they can inspire the world. Every person’s story deserves to be heard and I am hear to listen. Writing and teaching are my life’s work and passion. Each of us wants to feel that we can contribute something of value to the world, leave our mark, relate to other people and be heard. The best way we, as creative writers, cope and communicate is through the written word. Let’s speak this language together!

If you’re a writer or a college student working on a personal essay, we will begin with brainstorming. You will read to me what you have written. If nothing, I’ll conduct an interview to assess the subject. My approach is open, free flowing, and creative, whilst maintaining an organized environment to compose a structured outline.
I specialize in graduate-level creative writing (personal essays, creative non/fiction, memoir, poetry) with experience in teaching undergraduate composition, tutoring, and teaching English abroad.
