About Erik

I'm a native of Northeast Scotland and currently study International relations and French at the University of Strathclyde. I love language learning and teaching.

I gained my Tefl qualification back in 2021, and have since racked up more than 400 hours of teaching. I have also volunteered at a local college, helping English learners increase their confidence when speaking.

I hope to hear from you soon

Hello,

Lessons have a general focus on improving your confidence pronunciation and expanding vocabulary (including more informal language e.g slang and idioms). However if there is something that you the student would like to work on in particular, that can be accommodated.

I split my lessons into 3 sections

Introduction
- A quick recap of what we covered last lesson
- Some warm-up exercises
- Chance to go over homework

The development
- An overview of new/challenging vocabulary that you'll encounter in the lesson
- An explanation of the topic/concept
- A series of exercises increasing in difficulty

Conclusion
- A chance for you to clarify anything you didn't understand, and give feedback on the lesson
- On occasion, I'll set some homework here

I generally teach students 18 years+ and with a level of A2, though exceptions can be made depending on the student.
