About Taryn
By day she works with special needs adults to improve student reading, writing, basic math, and social skills... by night she works with you! Teaching you the ins and outs of Language Arts in a never-ending crusade to preserve learning!
Seriously though. I received a Bachelors in English Literature from Mount Saint Mary's University in 2017, but my love of reading has been ever present since the age of 5. As such a passionate reader, I absolutely adore sharing that love with students. At work I am known as the girl with the bag of books, because I always have reading of all levels for my students to dig into. It is great for my upper arms as well, though not my back.

I believe that passion is the key for learning. If the teacher doesn't care, why should the student? I am encouraging, patient, and determined. I believe in my students, and their ability to always learn. As someone with a learning disability of her own, I have a special insight into the unique challenges many students with LDs face. Every student is different, and requires a different approach, so I don't feel I can even have a universal teaching methodology. I am there for the student--it is not "one size fits all."
