About Joshua
I am a writer with several years’ experience of writing and editing. I have a keen eye for creativity and unique thinking with a background in publishing both creative work and journalistic work. This is supported by my BA degree in English Literature as well as a Distinction MA degree in Journalism.

My teaching methodology has been largely adapted from my experience in creative writing classes and workshops. Consequently my experience tends more towards undergraduate degree-level English and Creative Writing, and so I am well equipped to also teach at any level below this. This experience has built an approach that encourages communication as I look to inspire a confidence in expression. Naturally, this approach sheds some of the stodgy traditions of the classroom in favour of a more relaxed attitude that treats Literature and Creative Writing as they should be: an open discussion of ideas. Format should not hinder creativity and therefore I prefer a kinetic style of learning that can then be formalised through key understandings of grammar and structure.
