About Elaine
In 3rd grade my life changed, I realized I wasn't reading as fast or accurately as my peers. My teacher changed my life. He realized I was dyslexic, he taught me how to read using an index card and following along the lines to ensure I wouldn't skip any lines or get all jumbled while reading. It was that school year that made me realize how important it is to pay attention to your students and make a curve in the learning experience to be sure every child succeeds. Even if that means teaching in an unconventional way.

I enjoy making learning fun, and filling the kids with encouragement and a sense of accomplishment. If I'm being honest its not something you can really put in words. It something you feel, something you show. I have used everything in me to teach my 6 year old daughter. She now reads at almost a 5th grade level. I cant say that I have all these degrees or anything, but as a parent I strive for my children to succeed and feel confident in the classroom.
