About Edward
I’m a friendly, approachable and committed tutor with a strong academic background, currently in my fourth year studying Economics and French at the University of Reading. I have also completed a year studying Economics in France, where I achieved strong results in subjects including Labour Economics and Economic Policy, while developing an advanced level of French. Alongside my studies, I have gained professional experience at PwC, developing strong analytical, organisational and communication skills, as well as experience working with people from a wide range of backgrounds. Outside of my studies, I enjoy playing football and basketball and have represented both the University of Reading and the University of Montpellier in football. I aim to create a supportive, professional and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, build confidence in their abilities, and develop the skills they need to achieve their academic goals.

I offer friendly, personalised lessons in Maths, Economics and French, tailored to each student’s individual needs and goals. As a young and approachable fourth-year Economics and French undergraduate with a strong mathematical background, I provide tutoring for GCSE students and also A level students studying French or Economics. My lessons use clear explanations, worked examples, practice questions and exam-style tasks to build both understanding and confidence. A particular focus of my teaching is exam technique, helping students understand mark schemes and structure their answers effectively to maximise the marks they can achieve. Lessons are typically 60 minutes and combine a relaxed, supportive atmosphere with a focused approach, helping students feel comfortable asking questions, develop independent problem-solving skills and make steady progress.
