About Isabella
I gained my Master by Research in Molecular Pharmacology in the UK. I then worked for more than 10 years as a scientist in the field of vaccine development and cancer research in the UK. Throughout my education and work experience I gained knowledge in biology and all related subjects such as molecular and cell biology as well as biochemistry.
During my career as a scientist and researcher in the UK, I had the opportunity to teach specific lab techniques to junior scientists. I helped them to build a general theoretical background for the techniques, followed by practical teaching in the lab.
I find it very rewarding to see students make progress, overcome obstacles, become more confident in their abilities, and gradually develop an interest in the subject, even if it feels challenging at first.
I am passionate about the subjects I teach, and I believe that sharing this passion can inspire students to engage more deeply with the material and start exploring the subject with a genuine curiosity.

My approach with each new student, is to initially set up goals, which might include passing next week’s exam or achieving a higher grade by the end of the school year. Before each lesson, I establish a specific goal, like learning a particular topic. I prefer to set these goals before we start, often via email.
After that, I focus on preparing the materials for the lesson, which can involve creating drawings, videos, or figuring out which examples will help the student understand the topic logically.
Throughout my teaching experiences, I have always tried to explain concepts in depth, giving logical explanations and referring to real-world applications to help students understand things easily. I also find drawing a quick and simple way to explain concepts, as it engages with visual memory.
Another important aspect to make my lessons productive is creating a comfortable space where students can express their thoughts—both positive and negative—about the subject without fear of judgment. I also encourage them to ask as many questions as they feel necessary to fully understand the material.
I provide feedback by highlighting areas that need improvement as well as recognizing achievements to boost students' confidence.
At the end of each lesson (typically one or two hours long) , I make a recap to reinforce the learning of the students and I might also give some reference materials to use at their own pace.
My classes are designed for GCSE and A level students.
