About Yona

My yoga journey began much like many people's—on and off, a fleeting practice picked up and put down. But seven years ago, my life changed. A heavy blanket of depression and anxiety settled over me, i was angry sad and lonely all at the same time. Then i was diagnosed with Complex PTSD . The pain deepened with the loss of my grandmother, who was a mother to me. In the midst of this grief and struggle, I finally surrendered to the practice of yoga, and it was there, on the mat, that I discovered a side of yoga I never knew existed.
It wasn't about the perfect pose or the fitness aspect. It was about finding a safe harbour within myself. I fell in love with Ashtanga, and its disciplined yet flowing sequence became my anchor. It was profoundly life-changing. Through it, I learned to navigate my emotions, find stillness in the storm, and reconnect with my body and breath in a way that felt healing and true.
Now, at 36, I am a certified yoga teacher living on the beautiful coast of the Netherlands with my loving boyfriend and my 15-year-old son. My personal journey has shaped my teaching, and I believe that yoga is for every body and every story. My passion is to share the transformative power of this practice with others.

About the lesson

I offer private one-on-one sessions and corporate yoga classes, tailoring each practice to your specific needs. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to deepen your existing practice, I offer a variety of styles, including Hatha, Yin, Vinyasa, and Yin-Yang. I aim to create a nurturing and attentive space where you can explore and connect with yourself, just as I did.
I would be honored to guide you on your own unique path toward well-being and inner peace.

If you’re looking to learn yoga not just for a lifestyle shift but to transform your soul, then Yona is the teacher for you. I’m always eager to be her student because her lessons extend beyond the poses. I learn a lot about the deeper philosophy and purpose of yoga itself. In our sessions she tailor-fits everything to what I bring to the mat—my energy, intentions, and givens—and she offers me guidance that feels both challenging and safe. I’m constantly surprised by what my body can do during yoga, and Yona is right there to guide, witness, and celebrate each breakthrough. Over time she has become more than a teacher; I consider her my soul sister.
