Lamorna is one of our best Maths tutors. They have a high-quality profile, verified qualifications, a quick response time, and great reviews from students!

About Lamorna

My aim is to fill in the gaps in my pupils' learning to help them understand the concepts they encounter in their lessons - I like to know what they are learning in school so I can change their learning to fit. I love to tutor on a 121 basis as it allows me to work with children in a different context and get to know them as a learner and their strengths and weaknesses. I encourage children to learn the way they want to learn, using their interests to keep them engaged.

About the lesson

I am a qualified teacher, specialising in KS2 and KS3 education (Junior age 7-11 and Secondary age 11-14). My specialist subjects are English and Maths. I was a classroom teacher and have been tutoring for over 10 years. I am available to work with students on a full-time basis so am available during the day as well as evenings and weekends. My teaching experience varies from KS2 and KS3, across a range of curriculum subjects. I have previously taught in primary, secondary and middle schools. I cater for various styles of learners and love to make learning engaging and bring in real-life contexts to help children make real-world links to their learning.

Review

All of our reviews are collected by us and are 100% reliable. They correspond to a real experience lived by the students of Lamorna.

Lamorna is an excellent tutor and has encouraged my daughter to be a confident, independent learner. She is enthusiastic and makes my child feel at ease during her sessions, recapping anything that she feels unsure of.
I would definitely recommend her to people seeking a tutor.

I have known Lamorna since our own school days and watched her grow into a confident and experienced teacher and tutor. She is warm and compassionate, dedicated and patient. It’s is no surprise to me that her pupils have shown so much improvement with Lamorna’s help, and she in turn has obvious pride in them.
