About Rafaela
Hi! My name is Rafaela, I am a high school Junior, and an Honors student. My brother is an elementary school student. My first experience tutoring was with him, and I loved it. Being able to make a child’s outlook on their education better while helping them to learn and develop a thirst for knowledge is my ultimate goal.

I come at tutoring with a calm and fun approach. I believe that learning cannot occur when the student is stressed. Having tutored Elementary level students, I’ve learned that each student is different, with different challenges and stressors. I keep such limitations in mind during sessions and work through them in with the student in a calm, effective manner. I am a firm believer in the use of appraising statements after a student, especially one of the elementary level, succeeds in their work. This helps to boost students self esteem. My two top priorities are to help the student succeed and to do so with a smile and sense of optimism.
