About Kate
I am 43, a Mum to a fab 7-year-old girl and two mischievous dogs. My guilty pleasure is the music on the game KAHOOT (if you know, you know!) I have spent all of my adult life teaching students between the ages of 5 and 16. I LOVE to be able to help a student learn something new, understand something they find tricky and feel confident about their learning. Whatever their age! I feel privileged to have made the relationships with all the students I have worked with through the years, and it would be an honour to work with you.

Think fun, engaging with not a moment wasted. My sessions are always purposeful and tailored to the individual. I genuinely feel children can only learn when they feel comfortable and safe; so being warm and consistent is important to me, with the child central to everything I do. I ascertain children’s learning styles quickly, and create bespoke sessions where children leave feeling successful, accomplished and confident in the skill they have been learning. I have been a teacher since 2004, working in Primary and Secondary, holding a range of positions including Head of English, Literacy Lead and I am currently Head of Lower School in an online Academy. I am a very safe pair of hands, with high standards for myself.
