About Serena
In graduate school I thought I wanted to be a professor and enjoyed teaching, especially non majors. After completing my PhD I became a postdoc where I realized academia was not for me. Publishing, fellowships, and benchwork were not my passion, but microscopy was. I have over 15 years of experience using automated microscopes and image analysis software. My certificate in pedagogy is still useful because I continue to teach and train scientists how to use these complex instruments.
My goal during our lessons is to discuss topics of your interest, help prepare you or materials for career advancement, and discover ways to improve your mental health through stressful situations.
