About Emma
My academic background mean I don't just teach the syllabus, I use a variety of methods to help students retain and understand the many complex concepts of the subject. I work on exam skills, particularly in writing precise answers, case study analysis, and other strategies to help achieve the top of the marking scheme. This could be looking at model answers, rapid fire quizzes, knowledge charts, 3-minute summaries, and many more techniques that can be tailored to the needs of the student. I know how to turn a good answer into a top response, and several of my previous students have jumped at least two grade boundaries. With one going from an E to a B grade. I am highly organised and will set up a plan of learning in our first session, tailored to the student's needs and requirements.

I am a fully qualified GCSE and A-Level Film and Media teacher with a PhD in film and media studies. I have extensive experience as a former Head of Department in two London based schools and I have taught Film and Media GCSE to undergraduate level.
