About Kiyanu
Hi, I’m an experienced finance professional with a love for numbers.
Maths has been an exciting constant in my life for as long as I can remember. I did Maths A-Level, studied Economics and Accounting at university, and then spent seven years working in corporate finance at places like Vanguard and ICBC Standard Bank.
Teaching and helping people is just something I’ve always done. I actually started out years ago by helping my younger brothers with their school maths homework, which taught me how to explain tricky topics without the stress. From there, I became a maths tutor while I was at university, and even now in my corporate job, I spend a lot of my time mentoring and training colleagues.
At the end of the day, I just love helping people figure things out. I know maths can feel incredibly frustrating or boring sometimes, but I’m here to show you that anyone can get the hang of it with the right support and patience.

Kiyanu provided excellent additional support for my children. He created a structured and supportive learning environment where the children felt comfortable asking questions and tackling challenging topics. Their understanding of maths has steadily improved, and they now feel much more confident in the classroom. Kiyanu is reliable, punctual, and very good at breaking down complex concepts clearly. We are very pleased with the support.
Kiyanu has been a friend for many years and he has supported my daughter for the past two years in with Maths. He has excellent subject knowledge and is fantastic at breaking everything in a way that makes problems easier to understand. He is a very patient, kind and motivating tutor. As a result, my daughter show has grown in confidence and is on track to exceed her predicated GCSE Maths grade. I would absolutely recommend Kiyanu as a tutor.
