I started with Chris near the end of year 12 after being sick for quite some time, and having missed a lot of school I was stuck on a C/D in maths. After just a few weeks of sessions, I managed to get a high A in my end of year mocks comfortably. Chris helped me to understand maths on a deeper level and realise why all of the rules are the way they are, instead of surface level knowledge. Throughout year 13, as the content got harder, this helped me to understand instantly what to do when posed with any question, as maths papers mainly require problem solving rather than just following a precise example answer every time. It is these things that helped me feel so confident by the time of my actual A level papers and have been able to spend the summer relaxing instead of worrying about results day.

Christopher’s strength lies in his ability to get his students to work answers out for themselves and to give them the tools to do so. He’s very adept at explaining tricky concepts and was successful in getting my son to achieve the mental agility to apply his methods to different types of questions. My son lost a lot of time off poorly with glandular fever and he was great at getting him exam ready despite big gaps in his knowledge. Highly recommend!
