About Lisa

I am currently a high school history teacher at an independent school in Houston, Texas. I earned a Master's degree in History at the University of Oregon in 2025. I was previously a classroom teacher for more than ten years in Tacoma, WA, USA. My areas of expertise are Modern European History and World History. I have experience tutoring students for AP World History, AP European History and AP US History (APUSH), as well as supporting students in IB Diploma programs. I earned my Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University in 2008.

About the lesson

I always try to customize my classes to meet my student's needs. In general, I am well-prepared to support students currently enrolled in AP or IB history courses with coursework, writing assignments, and/or test preparation. For younger students, I am able to provide support in Social Studies or History classes.

Lisa has been teaching me history, language arts, Spanish, and SAT prep. She has always been my favorite tutor and the best one we have encountered. I see a change in my scores and she has always been a comforting and supportive teacher. I’m happy I came across her as I wouldn’t have made it this far as a student!
Thank you Lisa! ️
