About Judy
Hello, parents and caregivers. My name is Judy Smith. I have been married for 30 years and have two adult children. They are both currently attending college and looking forward to beginning their dream careers. My favorite hobbies are gardening and traveling to beautiful beaches. When I am not busy with family, I am working with students, planning lessons, or researching best practices for teaching.
My passion in life is helping others to be positive, confident, and productive in their learning journeys. I have 30 years of experience as an educator and am excited to offer my expertise to a larger range of families. Currently, I am an elementary school librarian in Texas with many years of classroom experience in grades ranging from kindergarten through college level. I have also worked as a campus Instructional Strategist, Campus Testing Coordinator, Parent Outreach Coordinator, Literacy Coordinator, State Assessment Scorer, and tutor. Also, I am the founder of Intelli-Coach, Learning Success Coaching. As a certified Learning Success Coach, I combine an array of services to create and maintain calm, positive, and productive learning to support the success and progress of students.
My goal is that all students will experience academic success through positive, engaging, and targeted instruction.

Teaching Method and Techniques:
I utilize a secure online platform that allows for enhanced interaction, screen sharing, and dual interaction, which enhances discussions and creative projects that are unique to each child's learning preferences. I determine any missing or mislearned skills and "fill in the gaps" so future learning flows smoothly.
Typical Lesson Plan:
Each week, I provide a structured lesson plan based on diagnostic assessments and feedback from previous sessions. Each weekly lesson plan will include easy-to-navigate details for learning and activities for all required subjects. The student and I will have at least one 1:1 session weekly to review the week's assignments and to provide targeted instruction and/or intervention. A typical lesson might include:
-A brief review of previously covered material.
-Introduction of concepts and assessment of prior knowledge.
-Hands-on practice or assignments tailored to the child’s interests.
-A wrap-up session where we reflect on what was learned and set goals for the next lesson.
-Depending on needs, a follow-up assignment for the week

Judy takes the time to learn the student in order to discover where the barriers are and develops strategies that enable the parents to help understand and support their student in a more comprehensive way. By involving parents it eases their frustrations and the students can sense that. Learning today is not just writing sentences, doing times table or rote memorization, it is much more involved and nuanced and takes time and planning for the individual needs of each student. I highly recommend Judy as a resource.
When Coach Judy started working with Emily, she was in the third grade. She hated reading and struggled badly in school. As a Dyslexic student, Emily had such low self-esteem about her reading ability. With Judy, her self-esteem, reading level, and comprehension soared. I am proud to say that she is now getting read to graduate from college in the top 10% of her class.
Judy is such a joy to work with. She helps instill confidence and is extremely committed to delivering results. She helped my daughter build her self esteem and also enhance her reading comprehensive. The results are great and we would recommend her services to anyone.
