I currently use an eclectic approach to teaching, blending task based exercises, communicative activities, and behaviourism.
When starting tutoring, the first step used is the student diagnosis, which enables me to identify the actual level of the student, and which is his particular learning style.
Lessons are constructed to ensure a gradual progress in needed areas, correlated with supplementary activities meant to enhance learner`s academic skills.
When structuring commentaries and essays, I currently suggest a coherent flow, with expressive, where the case, or specific vocabulary. Proofreading is also a way of ensuring that the the essay meets the academic requirements concerning thesis, coherence, clarity and academic referencing.

One-to-one tuiton with Mariana gives me the chance to develop confidence and ask questions that I wouldn't feel comfortable asking in a classroom.
