About Chelsy

Hi! I’m Chelsy, a certified high school math teacher with a Master’s degree in Mathematics and eight years of experience helping students succeed in everything from Algebra 1 to AP Calculus BC. I’ve taught in diverse classrooms and served as a department chair and instructional coach, so I know how to meet students where they are and help them grow with clarity and confidence. My students describe me as patient, supportive, and knowledgeable. Whether you're aiming to boost your grades, prepare for a big exam, or just want math to feel less overwhelming, I’m here to help you reach your goals.

About the lesson

As a passionate and experienced math educator with a Master’s in Mathematics and nearly a decade in the classroom, I believe every student can access deep mathematical understanding with the right support. My teaching method blends inquiry-based learning with real-world connections, helping students develop confidence and make sense of math on their own terms.

A typical lesson with me begins with a quick check-in and a warm-up that activates prior knowledge. From there, we explore new content together through guided discovery, examples, and collaborative problem-solving. Lessons always include space for reflection and independent practice to solidify understanding.

What sets me apart is my commitment to equity and inclusion in math education. I create a safe, supportive environment that celebrates mistakes as learning opportunities and fosters mathematical curiosity. With experience teaching everything from Algebra 1 to AP Calculus BC, I adapt my instruction to meet each learner’s needs—whether you’re catching up, filling gaps, or preparing for advanced coursework.

My lessons are ideal for high school students (grades 9–12), college-bound learners seeking support with AP or college-level content, and anyone who wants to build a stronger, more confident relationship with math.
