About D Maths
I am a mathematics educator with a degree in Mathematics. I have tutored mathematics on and off since 2002, including around ten years of consistent one-to-one tutoring, alongside more than three years of classroom teaching experience.
I have taught and tutored students from secondary school through early university level, including Algebra, College Algebra, Calculus and introductory Differential Equations. I especially enjoy helping students turn intimidating mathematical ideas into concepts that make sense.
I am patient, thorough and attentive to how each student thinks. Rather than expecting everyone to learn mathematics in the same way, I look for the explanation, example or perspective that makes the idea click for that particular student. My goal is for students to leave each lesson not only knowing more mathematics, but also feeling more capable of figuring things out independently.
Lessons are taught in English and are particularly suitable for students at international or bilingual schools, students following an English-medium curriculum, and anyone who wants to study mathematics in English.
Outside mathematics, I enjoy geography, travel and discovering new places and perspectives. I welcome students who need regular support, focused exam preparation, or help with a difficult topic before it becomes overwhelming.

My lessons focus on understanding mathematics, not simply memorising procedures. I explain concepts clearly, step by step, and adapt my approach to each student’s level, goals and learning style.
A typical lesson begins by identifying what the student already understands and where the difficulty begins. We then work through the underlying concept, examine examples together, and gradually move toward independent problem-solving. I encourage questions and help students understand not only how a method works, but why it works.
I teach foundational and secondary-school mathematics, as well as Algebra, College Algebra, Calculus and introductory Differential Equations. I also offer support in foundational and secondary-school Physics; my advanced-level specialisation is Mathematics.
Lessons are available online or in person at the student’s home or at a mutually agreed public location in Prague. Online lessons are available anywhere.
I am willing to travel up to 30 km for in-person lessons by agreement. For locations outside central Prague or requiring substantial travel time, a convenience fee or a two-hour minimum may apply.
Your first lesson is free. It gives us an opportunity to discuss your goals, assess your current level, look at a representative problem if helpful, and make a plan for future lessons.

Details
Online lessons are available anywhere at the standard hourly rate. In-person lessons can be arranged in Prague and nearby areas, with travel of up to 30 km considered by agreement. For locations outside central Prague or requiring substantial travel time, a travel expense of 150 Kč or a two-hour minimum may apply. The first 45-minute lesson is free and gives us time to discuss your goals, assess your current level, and make a plan for future lessons. Discounts are available for students who book a package of lessons.
