About Andy

I hold a degree in music and have had the privilege of performing across the UK and Europe, with my music featured on TV and radio. My extensive experience in studio settings has allowed me to work and record with diverse artists, while also honing my skills in music production, particularly with Ableton Live. For me, music has always been a powerful tool for both personal expression and mental well-being, and I’m passionate about sharing how it can improve focus, reduce stress, and enhance emotional health.

About the lesson

These lessons are perfect for beginner to intermediate drummers who want to develop their skills while discovering their unique sound. Whether you're eager to refine your drumming technique or have never played drums and want to give them a go, I will guide you through it all. My approach to lessons is tailored specifically to your goals and individual needs. Whether you're learning drums for fun as a hobby or aiming to fully commit and master the instrument, I'll guide you with my experience and knowledge. Throughout the lessons, we'll cover topics like hand and foot techniques, learning songs, developing independence, and reading music. Here’s what you can expect: - Solid Drumming Foundations: We’ll work on rhythm, coordination, and groove with fun exercises that make mastering the basics feel effortless. - Find Your Creative Voice: Explore different sounds, dynamics, and rhythms to help you develop your personal style and musical identity. - Sharpen Your Musical Ear: Develop your ability to add groove, emotion, and dynamics to your playing. Who’s This Course For? - Beginner to intermediate drummers who want to take their skills further - Musicians who want to explore the world of acoustic and electronic drumming - Producers looking to add live drums to their tracks - Anyone excited about mixing acoustic drumming with digital music production in Ableton Live! Why Learn with Me? - Personalised Approach: I’ll tailor lessons to fit your skill level and musical style, making sure the lessons feel unique to you. - For All Skill Levels: Whether you’re just starting or looking to fine-tune your technique, I’ll meet you where you are and help you grow. - Passionate Teaching: I genuinely love helping others grow as musicians, and I’ll be there every step of the way to guide you through each challenge. - Fun, Curated Resources: We’ll dive into a variety of learning tools – from audio clips to videos and written materials – to make sure you get the most out of every lesson. My studio is packed with both acoustic and electronic drums to give you the best sound experience. I have performed as a professional musician for the past 15 years. I originally started performing as a session drummer followed by the opportunity to work as a composer which led to releasing albums, touring across the UK and Europe as well as writing music for TV and sound installations. Education - BA Popular Music, University of the Highlands & Islands, Perth Campus. - HND Music Performance - Reid Kerr College, Paisley. - Working Creatively with Location Sound - Masters module. Let’s make some music together I can’t wait to work with you
