About Aakriti
Kia ora, and welcome to my profile.
My name is Aakriti, and I am an experienced Science and Chemistry teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience in international schools. I have worked with students from a wide range of cultural and educational backgrounds, helping them build confidence, improve their understanding of science, and achieve their academic goals.
I hold a Master's Degree in Science, a Bachelor of Education in Mathematics and Science, and I am currently completing the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH), an internationally recognized educational leadership qualification. Throughout my career, I have taught secondary students across various curricula, including internationally recognized programs such as IB and Cambridge, developing strong expertise in Chemistry, Biology, and general Science education.
My teaching philosophy is simple: every student can succeed when learning is personalized, engaging, and supportive. I take the time to understand each student's strengths, challenges, and goals before designing lessons that meet their individual needs. Whether you are looking to strengthen your understanding of key scientific concepts, prepare for assessments, improve your exam techniques, or build confidence in the subject, I will provide structured guidance and ongoing support.
Students appreciate my patient and encouraging approach, as well as my ability to explain difficult concepts in a clear and practical way. I use real-world examples, visual resources, problem-solving activities, and regular feedback to make learning meaningful and enjoyable.
My lessons are suitable for:
• Secondary school Science students
• NCEA Level 1, 2, and 3 students
• Students preparing for internal and external assessments
• Learners seeking extension and enrichment in Science and Chemistry
• Students who need additional support to improve confidence and achievement
I am committed to creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their skills. My goal is not only to help students achieve excellent results but also to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a genuine interest in science.
I look forward to helping you reach your academic goals and realize your full potential.

Hello, I'm Aakriti, an experienced Chemistry and Science educator with over 10 years of teaching experience across international curricula, including IB MYP, IB DP, IGCSE, GCSE, and Secondary Science. I currently hold a leadership position in an international school and am passionate about helping students build confidence, achieve academic success, and develop a genuine understanding of science.
My teaching approach is student-centered, inquiry-based, and tailored to each learner's individual needs. I begin by identifying a student's strengths, gaps in understanding, and learning style. Lessons focus on developing both subject knowledge and exam skills through clear explanations, guided practice, real-world applications, and regular formative assessment.
I use a variety of teaching strategies, including:
• Concept mapping and visual learning techniques
• Exam-style questions and mark scheme analysis
• Data interpretation and scientific investigation skills
• Retrieval practice and spaced revision
• Differentiated activities to support and challenge learners
• Development of critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
A typical lesson lasts between 60 and 90 minutes, depending on the student's age, goals, and requirements. Each session includes a review of prior learning, explicit teaching of key concepts, guided practice, independent application, and feedback to ensure continuous progress.
My qualifications include a Master's degree in Science, a Bachelor of Education in Mathematics and Science, and extensive experience teaching students from diverse international backgrounds. I also support students with Internal Assessments (IA), Extended Essays (EE), laboratory skills, and examination preparation.
Lessons are suitable for:
• Key Stage 3 Science students
• IGCSE and GCSE Chemistry students
• IB MYP Science students
• IB DP Chemistry students (SL and HL)
• Students preparing for school entrance exams or seeking additional academic support
My goal is to make science engaging, accessible, and achievable for every student while helping them reach their full potential and exceed their academic targets.
