About Babak

I hold a PhD in sociology from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). I've worked as a university lecturer, teaching sociology, politics, and history, and have supervised undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations. My own research and teaching experience have given me a broad understanding of the social sciences. Alongside subject knowledge, I focus on helping students build their confidence in core academic skills so they feel more equipped to tackle their studies and develop their own ideas.

About the lesson

Drawing on my experience as a university lecturer and dissertation supervisor for undergraduate and graduate students, I combine clear explanations, real-world examples, and targeted skill-development exercises, including academic writing, critical reading, and analytical thinking. Lessons are typically 60 minutes, suitable for A-level and undergraduate students seeking support in social science, sociology, politics, and history. My approach blends structured guidance with flexibility to build confidence and strong academic skills.
